As I’ve mentioned already, “The Crimson Ghost” was indeed a movie produced by Republic Pictures, an independent film production company and studio that operated between 1934 and 1959. They were best known for movie serials such as “The Crimson Ghost” but also for westerns and B films. Their specialty was in the mystic and high action and this is where Orson Welles‘ “Macbeth” came out of and where John Wayne and Gene Autry began their long and very successful careers as Hollywood actors.
